Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan inaugurated today 522 apartments built in Laç, saying they costed €42 million to the Turkish government that funded the construction after the earthquake of November 2019 in Albania. During the ceremony, Erdogan repeated the brotherhood feelings of the Turkish people for Albanians.

He also criticized the powerful countries of Europe for their approach during the pandemic.

“Albania and Turkey share other historic values. Being with your brother in good and hard times is one of them. During the pandemic, all the big countries locked down and shut their eyes, but we did the opposite, we went beyond our borders to see our brothers’ dramas and to be close to them with anything we could”, Erdogan said.

“Your happiness is Turkey’s happiness, your sorrow is Turkey’s too. The fact Turkey was among the first countries to reach for Albania is a clear testimony of the strong solidarity between us”.
