Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha repeated today his call for new parliamentary and local elections, saying it’s the only solution to the political crisis in Albania.

“The solution to the political crisis will come through earlier parliamentary elections in the same day with local elections, with an electoral code that addresses the problems of the votes buy-out, threatening of the voters, pressure on the electoral administration, and the depoliticizing of the State Police, electoral infrastructure, identity cards, the registry office, media freedom, and votes secrecy through a political instrument that guarantees a political will in compliance with every existing law or that will be modified with the consensus of all the political parties”, Basha said.”
