Albanian President Ilir Meta has condemned the so-called “anti-defamation package” that will be presented by the government to the parliament, calling to all the interested parties not to haste and add the countries negative records in the international area.

"Albania needs no more international negative records”, Meta wrote on his Facebook page. “Enough with the haste to add them! The concerns of the community of journalists and other partners must be listened to attentively and responsibly. Without free and independent media, Albania’s road to the European Union is impossible”.

Meta also posted the declaration of the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, addressed to the Albanian parliament.
