European Union leaders will gather in Sofia on May 4, 2018, for the summit with their Balkans countries homologues. The EU-Balcans summit was confirmed in the meeting of the Bulgarian PM Borisov with EC President Donald Tusk on Friday. The Bulgarian Prime Minister said he is expecting a cleat perspective in the summit instead of empty promises by the EU leaders considering the Western Balkan nations EU integration.

According to Borisov, Bulgaria, along with Greece, Romania and Croatia will play the mediator among Brussels and the region.

Tusk underlined the engagement of the European institutions in accelerating the concrete steps with the Western Balkans countries based on the reforms they will implement.
