Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha said in a meeting with party members and supporters in Libohovë, southern Albania, that the country is at crossroads because of the bad governance of Edi Rama’s Socialist government. The former Prime Minister said the government doesn’t even bother to hide its arrogance from the eyes of the citizens.

“Albanians are leaving the country every day, the poverty has grown significantly. This country has a government that doesn’t even try to hide its arrogance from the eyes of the citizens, the despise it has for the citizens, their interests and concerns. This is a government that covers with scamming every irresponsible act it commits”, said Berisha.

Berisha spoke also about the energy price, saying it is unrelated to the war in Ukraine, as Premier Rama tries to sell it to the citizens, despite a twofold growth in production since 2007 with the installation of new hydropower plants from Berisha’s government.

“Albania succeeded in producing 2 terawatts of electric power more than it consumes. Exactly in that time the energy price for businesses rose from 71 Albanian Lek to 225 Albanian Lek, instead of going down. Everyone was expected the price to go down. That was reflected in the bread prices, because in the end it is the citizens that pay the price. Food prices have doubled. Rama controls all prices through his boards”, sadi Berisha.

“What has the war got to do with our waters? We produce our energy from water. The war in Ukraine has zero influence, only Rama’s fraud does. This is a very painful story that culminates with the youth leaving the country”.
