The Albanian Special Appeals Chamber (KPA) has decided today to dismiss the head of Tirana’s Prosecution Office Elisabeta Imeraj from her post.

Despite the confirmation in duty from the first grade, the Independent Qualification Commission (KPK) the Iron Lady of the Albanian justice was fired after an appeal filed by the Public Commissioner, and under the pressure of the international observers that objected her confirmation by the vetting panel.

The KPK judges that confirmer Imeraj complained for pressure exercised by Theo Jacobs, the observer of the International Monitoring Operation (ONM).

Imeraj has investigated the cases of the biggest criminal and terrorist groups in the country and she raised serious questions on who was interested in her dismissal from the post.
