Albanian Premier Edi Rama has no intention to tell where the anti-Covid vaccines came from to Albania, with the excuse that other countries may shop at the same place in the future and leave Albania empty-handed!

Speaking on Open, Rama compared the vaccine to bread in a time of famine crisis, saying there are still many countries that are behind in securing the vaccine and for that reason he cannot make public yet details on how he managed to obtain the vaccines for Albania.

“The vaccines were taken by our authorities and by a special security unit. Logistically speaking, the vaccines arrived in Albania like in any other country of the world”, said Rama. “I won’t tell the name of the country we took them from, because full confidentiality was requested, in another time maybe we’ll tell and I will thank them. We won’t make it public because nowadays vaccines have become like bread in a famine crisis and there are secret negotiations, because some countries, EU countries and US,a are covered with the vaccines, some others are not. Our region was uncovered because it was not included in the first scheme of delivery from EU. Today there’s a number of countries that have not started the vaccination yet, and we have done parallel job”.
