The opposition representatives in the Political Council Oerd Bylykbashi and Petrit Vasili sent another letter to the ruling Socialist Party (PS) requesting OSCE/ODIHR to be accepted as a mechanism for the solution of disputes. The parties have agreed on this in the agreement of January 14, when the Political Council was created, fulfilling one of EU’s 15 prerequisites for a consensual electoral reform.

“It is a request of the international partners that, aiming to find consensus in the Council, the disagreements for the essential issue of the electoral coalitions should be sent without delay for solution to OSCE/ODIHR”, the opposition representatives wrote in their letter sent to the Socialist member of the Council, Damian Gjiknuri.

The opposition highlights that with its refuting position so far, PS has undermined the implementation of the January 14 agreement.
