The Democratic Party of Albania (PD) has requested from the General Prosecution office to verify the integrity of Valdrin Pjetri, the Socialist Party mayor-elect of Shkodra.
The request signed by PD’s Secretary General Gazment Bardhi is made in the conditions when there are data and public testimonies that Pjetri cannot perform a public functions on the ground of the Law on Decriminalization.
“In 2001-2002, Valdrin Pjetri has been arrested in Italy (resident in Florence) and later he was expelled from the country by the Italian authorities. By a verification of the TIMS data, it results that Valdrin Pjetri, in the period 2002 – March 23, 2010, has never traveled to Italy, which is an indication on the accuracy of the data made public earlier”, Bardhi wrote in his letter to the GP office.
