Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha continued today to expose the criminal activity of Oltion Bistri, a former high official of the Albanian State Police that was arrested earlier this week after an investigative file was sent from France to the Albanian justice authorities. In a message on his Facebook page, Berisha wrote Bistri was granted the security clearance by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

“His security clearance was signed by the deputy director of the Directorate of Securing Classified Information (DSIK) instead of the director Dorian Tola, because the director was abroad those days, which can be proved from TIMS. The director hesitated for three months, because he had information from the State Intelligence Service (SHISH) in Pogradec that he (Bistri) had slapped the local SHISH director for the cannabis fields in Pogradec that were cultivated by two cronies of (former Interior Minister) Saimir Tahiri’s friends under the police care, where Bistri was chief of a precinct”, wrote Berisha referring to a tip received from one of his followers.

“(Former Interior Minister) Çuçi did not want to grant  Bistri the security clearance because he wanted his adviser Aranit Arapi appointed as the Director of the Operational Directorate. Çuçi was unhappy that Bistri contacted Rama in person. Let the MPs in the Commission of Security require the clearance signed by the deputy director of DSIK. From the date of signature they may find out in TIMS that the director was out of the country”.
