Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha said he is open for the unification of the opposition’s biggest party and he has no personal grudge with any of the Democrat members and representatives. Speaking to host Çim Peka on Çim Peka Live on Syri TV, Berisha also explained his position concerning former Chairman Lulzim Basha, saying the accusations for US lobbying with Russian money must be clarified first.
“I am totally open for a true process of unification. I have nothing personal with any of them. Lulzim Basha does have a very serious problem with the financing issue. He denied it and the process is still going on. But he did not say from where he received the money that he transferred to Beniatta. When he tells all this, then we’ll have a conclusive position. We do not expel anyone from the Democratic Party, we have no expulsion article in the party statutes. As for the others, everyone is welcome. They may run for anything they wish, they will have full support, will be treated equally, without differentiation. Their return to their investment in Democratic Party would be the wisest thing they do”, said Berisha.
