After the shutdown of a Turkish college and kindergarten in Tirana at the request of the Turkish government, another scandal has been discovered, which reveals the subordination of Tirana’s government to Ankara.
Syri TV reports that a Turkish senior diplomat has been installed at the Albanian Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs right after the shutdown of the two education institutions. Sources told Syri TV the Turkish diplomat is Suat Akgun and he has taken the office of the former vice minister Agron Tare.
Akgun is a career diplomat that has served as Turkey’s Ambassador to the Sultanate of Brunei and in Turkey’s Mission to NATO.
After his arrival, Akgun has called in meetings all the directors of the ministry. All of them have reported to him and are working together.
Such a thing did not happen even during the time of the communist regime relations with the Soviet Union, when Soviet officials could do anything they wanted in Albania. Sources said to find precedents one must look back at the time of the Italian occupation during World War II.
