European Commission published today its annual progress report on Albania and other candidate countries in the framework of EU integration. The report raised concerns about the high level of corruption and impunity of high officials. Considering the April 25 elections, the European Commission highlighted the misuse of funds in the electoral campaign and the abuse with the Tirana citizens’ personal data.

The Report also criticized the violations of media freedom, noting there was continuous pressure on journalists and media reporters reaching as far as arresting them while making their job.
