Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha addressed to Albanian citizens today asking them to have faith in the Democratic Party, which will make possible Albania’s membership in EU just like it made possible the free movement in the Schengen Area ten years ago.
Basha remembered December 15 2010, when EU lifted the visa regime with Albania, allowing Albanian citizens to move free in the Schengen area. Basha said it looked impossible at that time, but it became a reality.
The Democrat chief attacked the current government that its last months in office continues to feed a fistful of oligarchs with the State Budget, on the backs of thousands of citizens that live in the critical poverty levels.
“I am proud I performed my duty and with my team I proved that nothing can stop us reach our main goals if we prioritize people rather than ourselves”, Basha told media reporters.
“Just like we worked for visas’ removal when no one believed – honestly, not even us – when with the help of the State Police that understood how important it was to do their duty at the citizens’ service, just like we turned visas’ removal into reality, with a renewed unity we will make another step for the change: Albania’s accession in EU. In this dark day, my appeal to every Albanian is: Have faith!”
