Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha met Italian Foreign Minister Luigi di Maio who is visiting Albania.

After the meeting, Basha spoke to media reporters, saying it was a very friendly and fruitful one. Basha and Di Maio spoke about the coronavirus pandemic, with Italy promising to help Albania acquire the vaccines that are expected to be produced massively in the next months.

They spoke also about Albania’s EU integration.

“For the seventh time in seven years Albania is risking another NO in the integration process for not fulfilling the conditions”, Basha said.

“The electoral reform is the main prerequisite for the start of the negotiations. After April 25, our government will lobby to guarantee the funds that are granted to any candidate country in all the sectors”.
