Albanian Premier Edi Rama and the Socialist majority have decided to back off temporarily from the approval of the law on the Constitutional Court just returned to the parliament by President Ilir Meta. Head of the Socialist parliamentary group Taulant Balla said they will be expecting the opinion of the Venice Commission.

Despite pretending to not fear President Meta’s ultimatum for the approval of the electoral reform till March 15, the acts of the majority show the opposite.

In order to avoid an eventual confrontation with the President of the Republic, the Socialist Party will not rush in revising the law on the oath of judges and prosecutors.

“I hope the street language is not included in the arguments of the decree. I believe that, if not in the session of March 19, it will be ready for the next one”, Balla said.
