Kosovo will not participate in Tirana’s Western Balkans Leaders Summit of December 20 and 21, as it was the case with former summits in Novi Sad in October 10, and Ohrid in November 10.

Kosovo government’s director of communications Donjeta Gashi told Tema TV that incumbent Premier Ramush Haradinaj has not changed his position, considering the mini-Schengen pact as harmful to his country.

Gashi added Prishtina recognizes the Berlin Process as the only initiative for the Balkans.

Haradinaj’s boycott of the Tirana Summit comes one day after Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced he will attend the summit along with North Macedonian Premier Zoran Zaev and Albanian Premier Edi Rama. The participation of Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina remains unknown.
