Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha visited the residents of the Astir area which were hospitalized after being brutally beaten by the police in the morning today.

Speaking to media reporters after his visit, Basha said the violence on the residents serves to Premier Edi Rama and Mayor Erion Veliaj to cover a €40-million theft.

“It is clear this is not about a new ring road, but about a theft project along with the ghost company. Rama is determined to go to the end of this theft and he spares no one, neither the citizens, nor their families, in order to fill his pockets”, Basha said.

“This is a serious crime. By condemning strongly this incident, I’d like to warn any of the violators, from Edi Rama to the executors, that they will be held accountable before law. They will answer for this barbaric violence on children only to fill their pockets with the €40 million of corruption”.

Basha also promised that all the residents will be compensated once the Democratic Party comes to power.
