A police operation for the arrest of Paulin Gega, the administrator of the known fuel company Gega Oil, has been betrayed from inside the police and prosecution office. It is understood Gega and his company have been under investigation over money laundering and tax evasion since a long time but his activity was blocked only last Wednesday, August 7, after Premier Edi Rama declared war on the informality.

It is expected a new investigation will start to find out who betrayed the police action, but before interrogating the police officers and prosecutors in the know, the investigators must first interrogate Premier Rama.

Syri.net has found out it was Rama in persons that informed the owner of Gega Oil publically, two days before he escaped.

Rama has warned through a post in Facebook, publishing pictures of the Gega Oil gas stations, writing that “every tough guy will be caught”.

"No, no, there is no chance for the fuel pumps to pour oil, sucking the money that belongs to the consumers and state. Every tough guy that will continue to do so will be caught and will pay manyfold. Everyone is equal before the law”, Rama notified Gega for what was about to happen in the next days.

That was enough for the fuels businessman to flee only two days later, while today the police and prosecution office announced about an arrest warrant on him.
