Albanian Premier Edi Rama has appointed Sandër Lleshi, the rejected candidate for the post of the Minister of the Interior, as the new vice minister in the same ministry.

Lleshi was Rama’s choice to replace former Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj, who stepped down from the post, but Albanian President Ilir Meta refused to decree the new minister.

It is understood Lleshi will be appointed in the new post with a decision of the council of the ministers.

It remains still unclear who will delegate him the minister’s duties following Xhafaj’s resignation.
