Mayor of Durrës Vangjel Dako is under investigation by the Prosecution for Serious Crimes according to unidentified sources from the prosecution office.
Dako and several members of the Avdylaj clan are under investigation over votes buy-out in the last general elections in Albania, held in June 2017 and won by Dako’s Socialist Party.
It is understood the investigation has started from June 2017 for illegal influence in the shape of criminal organization.
The prosecution is also investigating over the hiring of personnel in the municipality of Durrës and administrative units.
