Former President of Albania Sali Berisha said the idea of land swap between Kosovo and Serbia is “neither new, nor Albanian”, adding no one has the authority to discuss the territorial integrity of Kosovo.
Berisha, the first president of Albania following the collapse of the communist regime, made his statement following a meeting he had with Kosovo politician Albin Kurti.
"I want to say to any Albanian and Kosovo citizen that never in my political career have I had the chance to hear a state official or diplomat putting into question the borders of Kosovo. Belgrade’s efforts for the Greater Serbia pose one of the most destabilizing acts for the region and for the annexation of Kosovo territories”, Berisha said.
The leading politician appealed to Kosovo citizens and deputies to end this “dramatic situation”.
“No one has the authority to put on the table the territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo”.
