The Albanian opposition, led by Democratic Party chairman Lulzim Basha, is decided to block the parliamentary sessions till the expulsion of Premier Edi Rama.

After a speech where he demanded the release of 11 protesters, Basha requested Rama’s expulsion from the session.

The opposition deputies held banners requesting the release of the 11 participants in the protest against the new highway toll, arrested per political order of Edi Rama as an act of vengeance for the protest.

Three weeks ago, from his place in the parliament, Premier Edi Rama offended the Albanian people with the comparison to the male genital organ, saying “they (the people) could not rise, like ‘it’ that cannot raise his head”.

For that reason, the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) requested Rama’s expulsion from the parliament, but their request was rejected. Today the opposition requested his expulsion or they would not allow the session to take place.
