Democrat MP Oerd Bylykbashi has accused Albanian Premier Edi Rama of using the vetting process as a weapon against judges or prosecutors and to control them. Bylykbashi wrote anyone who dares to object Rama will soon be a subject of the vetting process/

“When the Prosecution for Serious Crimes requested (former Interior Minister) Saimir Tahiri’s arrest, Rama attacked the prosecutors by calling them ‘Nordic men’. Then, he ordered his deputies to turn the parliament into a courthouse and reject the request for Tahiri’s arrest”, Bylykbashi writes.

“Later, he ordered the extradition to Italy of the key witness in Tahiri’s process, to leave the Prosecution for Serious Crimes with empty hands; then ordered IM Fatmir Xhafaj and General prosecutor Arta Marku to create Task Forces in the districts prosecution offices, taking away the competences from the Prosecution for Serious Crimes, cutting its legs”.

“In the end, the Prosecution for Serious Crimes will be replaced by SPAK, but till then it will be like a toothless lion. Thanks to Edi Rama the Reformer, anyone who dares to object him will soon face the vetting process”.
