Albanian Premier Edi Rama has shown his ambition to stay in office for twenty years, following the example of his Montenegrin counterpart Milo Djukanovic. The goal is to make Albania just like Montenegro, or as he says, an attractive destination in the Mediterranean coast.

“Trust is needed to attract the big investors in Albania and a Prime Minister needs time to be convincing”, Rama said today in the Bay of Lalëz, where he took part in the inauguration of the project of the first 5-star tourist complex. The Prime Minister told the participants a confidential talk he has had with Djukanovic.

“I’ve kept in my mind a talk I had with Montenegro’s Premier. I asked him about the strategy of the quality constructions that transformed Montenegro into an attractive destination in the Mediterranean. He told me not to forget he had been Prime Minister for over 20 years. “It took me ten years for the first structure. Convincing investors came after that”, Djukanovic said. So, for an investor it is a question of trust, because there are a thousand reasons to prejudge our country and a lot of courage is needed. The truth is today we are in the road of opening a new season”, Rama said.
