Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha commented the nepotism scandal of the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Ermonela Felaj after reports that four of her family members have been appointed as prosecutors in different Prosecution Offices.
Berisha called the phenomenon as “family prosecution” and “a new monster of the justice pseudo-reform”.
“After using the vetting process for witch-hunting based on criteria of social, provincial, and even religious origin, after the creation of justice of the Socialist Party organizations, after the multiplication of corruption and fines they pay in the judicial process, after the de facto deprivation of Albanian citizens from a fair legal process, the new justice based on the Soros-Rama reform brought a new monster, never seen or heard before”, Berisha wrote on his Facebook page.
“This is family prosecution. The Prosecution's Office of the Albanian capital is now the Prosecution's Office of the Felaj family, known for years for its proven links with the underworld. This prosecutor's office, in a unique case like in no other country in the world, be it a free country or a dictatorship, is now led by four members with direct ties to godmother Felaj. A dark record!”
