Secretary General of the Freedom Party Tedi Blushi has appealed to the Albanian youth to rise in revolt against the government after the death of a young man at the hands of police in Tirana.

Lear Kurti, 32, died after being detained at a Tirana police precinct, presumably after being beaten. He was sent to the hospital but was already dead when he arrived there.

Blushi said Kurti’s death will not be the last one as long as Edi Rama remains Prime Minister. He also called for the resignation of Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi.

“This tragic event will not be the last one as long as Edi Rama, Bledi Çuçi, and the phalanges of crime will be in power. The youth must express their revolt for this murder. The Interior Minister must step down immediately”, said Blushi.
