Albanian Premier Edi Rama showed to the Albanian public opinion and media reporters the same old movie he has always shown any time exponents of his Renaissance have been caught as implicated with the organized crime.

This time it was about Erion Veliaj, but also for himself, as both have been implicated as protagonists in a giant scheme of corruption and money laundering that becomes clear by the wiretaps of the Italian anti-mafia authorities, no matter to what extent it was realized.

The sequences of the over-watched movie Edi Rama showed us today are the same he showed us for (disgraced former Kavaja Mayor) Elvis Rroshi with seven names, (former Durrës Mayor) Vangjush Dako with his ice-cream-clean hands, (former Interior Minister) Saimir Tahiri of the country’s canabbisation in the period 2015-2016, and for (former Interior Minister) Fatmir Xhafaj and his brother Agron or Geron that is still serving a prison sentence in Italy over international drugs traffic crimes.

Let us remember some of the passages from the same old movie with different characters that are as similar as two drops of water.

“I have believed and certainly I’ll always believe that treating someone like a criminal for offenses they did not commit is criminal. It was criminal yesterday and it remains criminal today and forever, every slander, allegation, fabrication, that aims to criminalize a person on account of their duty. It applies to Elvis Rroshi too”, the same Edi Rama said in June 2016 for the disgrace Mayor of Kavaja Elvis Rroshi who used seven aliases and was convicted in Italy over rape accusations.

“Sali (Bersha) has started his next dirty campaign to tarnish Fatmir Xhafaj! In his old and despicable Bolshevik style, he has built an accusation based on a totally invented story about Fatmir’s brother. A story with Venezuelan drug for a father of two who works honestly and is guilty of one thing only: Being the brother of the person that heads the Special Parliamentary Committee for the most important reform of the last 25 years”, Rama said in August 2016 for former Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj, then Chairman of the Special Committee for the Justice Reform, and his brother with two names, Agron or Geron, sentenced by an Italian court.

“What I know is this: (The Prosecution of) Catania has investigated a criminal organization and during the investigation there were intercepted talks among the group members that mentioned the Interior Minister. Till today, the Prosecution of Catania has made no step concerning Tahiri. You cannot say ‘let’s have him sent to prison then we’ll see’ without evidence”, Rama said after Saimir Tahiri’s cousins’ gang was dismantled by the Italian authorities.

“(Durrës Mayor) Vangjush Dako, who has become a target of all, showing him as a person linked to crime, defeated Sali, the state and its hordes in 2007, 2011, then again in 2013 and 2017. We defeated multiple times Sali and his hordes”, Edi Rama said immediately after the interception showing the Socialist Party and its functionaries’ implication in the vote rigging in Durrës in collusion with the organized crime.

After eight years and tens of captures in flagrance of his collaborators in implication with crime, Edi Rama’s fantasy has remained the same, using the same old worthless excuses and the same old movie he uses any time the Renaissance is caught with its hands in the sack.
