The Albanian government has spent less money in the first trimester of 2020, in the peak of the coronavirus spread, compared to the first trimester of 2019.
The Bank of Albania reported the healthcare expenses were nearly 11 billion Albanian Lek for the first trimester of 2020, or 3.1% less than in the same period last year. The drop has occurred on account of the decline of the expenses in March 2020, when the government spent 3.5 billion Lek, compared to 4.6 billion Lek in March 2019, or 24% less.
Healthcare funds for the first trimester of 2020 are equal to 10.3% of the total expenses from 10.8% of one year ago.
