Former President Bujar Nishani sad today his successor Ilir Meta cannot be fired by the Socialist majority in the parliament. Nishani, currently head of the National Council of the Democratic Party, added inviting the Venice Commission for counseling on the start of procedures for President Ilir Meta’s dismissal is merely an effort of the Socialist majority to justify the fact it won’t be able to fire the President.

“The President has exercised a constitutional function to revoke an earlier decree, so it’s a routine procedure. The inclusion of the Venice Commission was an act as ugly as the set up of the inquiry commission for the dismissal of the President”, Nishani said.

“The Prime Minister knew Venice would never accept the President’s dismissal, but he used the Commission to find a way out of his act, not only shameful but also politically dangerous, of attacking the President of the Republic”, Nishani told television A2.
