Former Democrat MP Ervin Salianji commented today the creation of the new political party Bindja Demokratike (The Democratic Solution), founded by former members of the Democratic Party (PD). Salianji said the Bindja members worked against then-chairman and Prime Minister Sali Berisha aiming to take control of the party.

“The members of this party (Bindja) have worked against the Democratic Party and Sali Berisha in 2013 to take away from him the control of the party. They worked against in several areas. As far as yesterday they voted for Edi Rama to spite Lulzim Basha. I don’t believe they would as shameless as to vote again for Edi Rama and against themselves today”, Salianji said in an interview with the television Syri.net.

Salianji backed the decision of PD to relinquish the parliamentary mandates, being one of the Members of Parliament that renounced his mandate.

“It was the best decision. We see today the people’s trust in us has increased and that was the only way to avoid a civilian conflict. We are offering solutions today, not by simply demanding Rama’s resignation, but by offering an alternative”, said Salianji, repeating that a “transitional government is the only way for Albania”.
