Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha said today the opposition will demand a parliamentary investigation into electoral manipulation.

“We will follow every legal procedure, including Strasbourg. This has only one way, protests and only protests. We are facing an enemy of the freedom of Albanians, who, after declaring the Electoral Code to be chinoiserie, took every step to steal the vote of the Albanians”, said Berisha in the meeting of the Democrat parliamentary group.

“Therefore, with this situation, we must undertake a powerful and direct media dialogue, in order to raise the powerful movement that Albanians expect from us.

What happens in Albania does not happen in any other country in the world. It never happens that Prime Minister appoints the chairman of the opposition coalition. It never happens that electoral funds are given to the majority candidates and not a penny to the opposition candidates. It never happens that the government sends envelopes with 50,000 ALL to 683,000 pensioners in the middle of the election campaign. It never happens and it cannot happen that the administration turns into a political police of the Albanian votes. It never happens that 540,000 Albanians turn into traveling voters”.

“We will intensify our efforts in the parliament to be the voice of the citizens. A request for a parliamentary investigation of these elections will be submitted to the parliament. This battle will continue in parliament, in Strasbourg, on all fronts. All our potential is in the defense of the vote. It is imperative that we deliver it as soon as possible, today or tomorrow. These elections will be investigated, the violation started 5 months ago. The strategy of violating the elections was unfolded from January 1 until today in the most illegal way. The parliamentary investigation will prove to the Albanians the whole scale of manipulation”.
