Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha made other accusations against US Ambassador Yuri Kim, to which he referred as “the McGonigal in a dress” during his weekly press conference today. Berisha condemned the interference of Kim in the internal affairs of the Democratic Party and for pressure on the Appeal Court that decided to give the party seal to the faction of disgraced chairman Lulzim Basha. Berisha promised that all Edi Rama’s and Kim’s efforts will fail.

“I guarantee the Albanian citizens that all the efforts of Edi Rama and McGonigal in a dress, which are evident as he himself admitted, with the interference in the court, will end in shameful failure”, sadi Berisha.

“The Democratic Party will go to the (mayoral) elections as the freest force in its history. For the first time, it goes with candidates voted by its members and supporters. These are the reasons for this enthusiastic start, which will turn into a tsunami that will send to the archives the monism of Edi Rama and the services offered to him by Lulzim ‘The Locksmith’ Basha”.

“In 90 percent of the electoral races, the Democrats will go to the elections with the coalition logo. This is the truth”.

“There is no actual Democrat, no Albanian citizen that does not condemn disgustfully Edi Rama’s ugly act of trying to appoint the leaders of the opposition, with the help of Governor Yuri Kim who hasn't said a single word to Albanians about the Rama-McGonigal affair for six weeks now”.

“Does the lady have an obligation to say two words to the Albanians about this, after she had something to say about anything: about the moon, the sky, the sun, about planting, harvesting. This is a super scandal. This is a 21st century Watergate of very large proportions”, Berisha said about Ambassador Kim’s silence for the McGonigal affair.

“Did you know that (former Minister of Energy) Damian Gjiknuri was McGonigal's main companion in Albania? Did you know that Gjiknuri and (Taulant) Balla, after making extortions in Tirana started to do so in Elbasan too? Did you know that he sent an American traitor to Tropoja to receive the title of the Honorary Citizen? I invite the lady to make complete transparency, to condemn the activity of this government, at least in terms of what the US court has issued. She cannot do it, I understand, because she is part of the problem”.
