EU Ambassador to Albania Christine Hohmann confirmed the concern of the member countries related to the high number of migrants that pass through Albania.

Asked by Syri TV concerning the Frontex report and the Czech government’s proposal for the return of visas, the Ambassador said she expects the issue to be discussed in the meeting of the regional ministers next week.

“There are discussions among the European Union countries regarding the high number of illegal border crossings. Next week we will have a meeting between the Interior Ministers and Justice Minister of the region. What I expect is that this issue will be discussed at this meeting”, said Hohmann.

The Ambassador also confirmed that the European Union is against the approval of the tax amnesty, stressing that discussions with the government about this initiative continue.
