Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has boycotted the speech of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the Assembly, although he had announced earlier that he would be present at the first session of this year. 

 

Sources for SYRI suggest that Berisha was absent from attending Erdogan's speech, as this decision is related to the latter's stances against the opposition and interference in the April 25 general elections. 

 

We remember that the Turkish president intervened in the general election campaign, after declaring alongside Rama that the construction of the regional hospital in Fier will be completed before the April 25 elections. 

 

Erdogan also hosted a grand reception for Rama at the presidential palace in Ankara and then allowed him to speculate in the media about a negotiating role in the heated Turkey-Greece conflict.
