Albanian President Ilir Meta called against violence acts during the protest at the Democratic Party today where a group of MPs, with discharged chairman Lulzim Basha among them, have been locked up in the building and refuse to allow the entrance to thousands of Democrat members and the Committee for the Re-foundation of the party.

“I’d like to underline the importance of a pacific protest as a fundamental right in democracy, totally legitimate and constitutional that must be respected by all”, President Meta said.

“I appeal to the parties to keep calm, avoid violent acts, provocations, and unnecessary tensions. It is necessary to find an immediate and democratic solution that serves to the social peace and democracy in the country”.
