Chairwoman of the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) Monika Kryemadhi exploded in accusations against her former ally, Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha, saying he is evil and helped alter the opposition action prior to the elections.

Speaking to the Newsbomb magazine, Kryemadhi said she had never though the interruption of the opposition action that started on February 16, 2019, or its alternation in certain moments or under external influences, “would bring us to the point we are today, with the modification of the electoral system”.

The Albanian opposition parties decided on February 16, 2019 to relinquish their MP mandates, abandoning the parliament, and later boycotted the local elections of June 30, 2019, taking a lot of criticism from home and abroad.

“I can say that the relinquishment of MP mandates and the elections boycott harmed the democracy in Albania and offered Edi Rama the chance to establish an autocratic system”, Kryemadhi said. “The sad truth is that Albania ended with an opposition that had its agenda written in the Prime Minister’s office”.
