Albanian President Ilir Meta has commemorated today the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 on the Twin Towers in New York City, highlighting that Albania stands by the side of the American people.

"By the side of the American people, we remember today the innocent victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and solidify with their families”, Meta wrote on his Facebook page.

“Albania is determined in its commitments by the side of the United States and NATO in the fight against the international terrorism and any act that endangers the stability and peace in the world and our region.

Albania and the United States are united in their shared values of freedom and democracy, and in their efforts to safeguard these values by shared threats like terrorism, violent extremism, religious fundamentalism, and authoritarianism”.
