Former Albanian Premier Sali Berisha warned today about new manipulations and votes buy-out in the next year’s general elections. Berisha denounced a new campaign of cannabis cultivation in the southern districts of the country under the protection of the state police. Berisha wrote in a post on his Facebook page after a tip from an anonymous police officer in the General Directorate of the State Police.
The officer spoke about cannabis plantations in the districts of Vlora, Gjirokastra, Delvina, Tepelena, Përmet, Skrapar, and Mallakastra, where the cannabis cultivation is twice as much as it was in 2016.
He mentioned Director General of State Police Ardi Veliu as directly involved in the plantation of hundreds of thousands of cannabis plants, with the money generated from it being used to buy votes in the elections of 2021.
