Former minister of Integration Klajda Gjosha commented about an eventual decision of the Dutch parliament to return the visa regime for the Albanian citizens traveling within the Schengen area. Ms Gjosha said it is very bad news for the Albanians which had been isolated for decades.

“This is twice as bad. I have experienced the news very badly. The Albanian people have made many sacrifices. 45 years under total isolation, later a few years in long rows in front of the embassies. To discuss the return of visas after this many years is a national alarm and a precedent that must be prevented”, Gjosha said in an interview with TV Syri.net.

She believes it is probable the Dutch parliament will vote for the return of visas.

“Later the process may go to Brussels. This is serious while Albania hopes for the opening of membership negotiations with EU. The main concern is that this may became a debate in all the parliaments of the member countries”, Gjosha said.
