Hundreds of residents in the area where the new ring road of Tirana is planned to be constructed have gathered in protest rallies against Albanian Premier Edi Rama and Mayor Erion Veliaj after the order to leave their houses and businesses that will be demolished.

The citizens accused Rama and Veliaj of lying them and have not succumbed to the police pressure following the arrests of several protesters.

Some of the protesters have imitated some of Rama’s minister and Socialist mayors using swear word, saying “there’s no son of a bitch to pass through here because we have paid our lands and all our taxes”.

Opposition MPs Flamur Noka and Klevis Balliu were present in the protest.
