Kosovo Premier Albin Kurti has declared he will not allow the creation of any type of Republika Srpska in the north of the country.
Kurti was speaking to the Croation website Hina prior to the new round of the negotiation for the normalization of the relations with Serbia that will take place on Tuesday in Brussels.
In the meeting between Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić a draft of the statutes of the associations of Serbian-majority communes will be presented. Kurti said he hasn’t seen the draft yet.
“Considering Brussels’ insist I’ll be happy to see what draft they have prepared, even though I’d rather prefer they presented it to me in Pristina. I assure you for the fulfillment of what we agreed on February 27 in Brussels, the existence of an appropriate level of self-governance of the Serbian community according to the highest European standards for the protection of minorities. But, what we will not allow is the right of territorialism and the creation of anything that would look like the Republika Srpska in Bosnia Herzegovina. We will not allow a satellite pre-state of destructive essence that would undermine Kosovo’s state”, said Kurti.
