Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha continued denouncing Premier Edi Rama's scandalous abuses of power, speaking in an electoral rally in Librazhd today.

“Every citizen must vote for himself. Edi Rama would never deserve the vote in these elections”, said Berisha.

“Due to the doubling of taxes, the government collected €5.8 billion per year. In 2013, with half of the taxes, we collected €3.8 billion. So, he (Rama) collected €2 billion more per year from taxes. Where did the money go? It’s only stolen. Roads are with €24 million per kilometer, while in all of Europe they are built with 2 or 3 million Euros at most”.

“The Elbasan-Tirana highway was finished in 2013 except for a 7 kilometer segment Ibë-Farkë. The entire road was procured for final delivery with €255 million, including the tunnel. The road cost €430 million. Those 7 kilometers remained cost €180 million”.

“So, anyone who thinks it's not our money is fatalistically mistaken. It’s only yours. The government does not produce money; it collects your taxes, your toil, your sweat and is obliged to return it to roads, schools, water pipes, sewers. You vote for yourself, a vote for Edi Rama is a vote to be stolen again”.

“The Mayor of Tirana, the first mayor that will be defeated for sure, says he has planted 1 million trees. The big park of Tirana has a total of 32,000 trees. It is 57 hectares. 1 million trees need an area of 600 to 900 hectares. He stole with the invoices for the seedlings. He bought pine trees with a price of €5,500 each”, said Berisha.
