Albanian President Ilir Meta believes the honest Albanians are the best opposition against Premier Edi Rama’s corrupted government. The President was asked by media reporters whether his return to the active politics and Sali Berisha’s return as chairman of the Democratic Party will enhance the opposition. Meta’s term as President of the Republic expired on July 24 and he has promised he will be very active in politics making opposition against Rama’s Socialist government.

“I think the honest Albanians are the best opposition against anyone. They simply need to unite to take the country forward, Meta responded to the question in the press conference after the Balkans Freedom Forum that was held in the Albanian capital Tirana.

He also sent a message to the parliamentary parties prior to the third round of the new President’s election.

“I believe the Parliament knows its obligations and will fulfill its Constitutional obligation with maximal responsibility within deadline. I believe the parliament will do its job and I will do mine with dedication until July 24”.
