Desperate and abandoned by the majority of the Albanian Democrats, disgraced former chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha is trying to manipulate the public opinion with the help of media outlets under Premier Edi Rama’s control.

Publishers Irfan Hysenbelliu and Mero Baze published today a short video from a meeting former Prime Minister Sali Berisha had in Durrës claiming he recognized the merits of former Socialist Mayor of Durrës Vangjush Dako.

Hysenbelliu and Baze chose to lie to the public shamefully on Basha’s account by manipulationg the video and presenting only a few sequences of what Sali Berisha said in Durrës which were totally out of context.

In reality, the historic leader of the Albanian Democrats Berisha said the opposite of what was introduced in the manipulated video. According to Berisha, Durrës is much worse now due to the bad governance.

“Durrës has been governed by Socialists for 22 years. There is no one that can say Durrës today is better than it was 22 years ago”, Berisha said.

“No, and if we go further, in particular at the beach area, it was one of the most beautiful areas it was but it was ruined by apartment buildings”.

“What happened in 22 years is that Durrës is covered by Dako’s concrete, who – one must admit – is a man that more than everything had the sale of his concrete as his single ideology”.

“He hosted and entertained, anyone who went there found his door open. His aim was to sell concrete. The construction permits were given like at an ATM. This is the truth and it was crazy because it has done a huge harm to the city”.
