Former Chairman of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha said his successor Lulzim Basha – recently dismissed by a party membership referendum – has remained hostage of several investigative files. Berisha said Basha is a partner of Albanian Premier Edi Rama in the construction of the harbor of Durrës, a project worthy millions of dollars.

“Many wonder if this person has major mental health problems. I say he doesn’t. This person has major issues of the human moral”, Berisha said in Fier, on the occasion of the 31th anniversary of the foundation of the local branch of the Democratic Party.

“He is a hostage due to corruptive affairs, a hostage of Nik Muzini’s file, the Toyota Yaris file, and as it is being revealed, he is involved in business affairs in the harbor of Durrës with no less than Edi Rama in person. We are dealing with a bad seed of the human moral”, said Berisha.
