Albanian President Ilir Meta’s office has responded to Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha’s allegations made in an interview with the Voice of America on Friday. Basha spoke about the “citizen Ilir Meta” to separate the person from his duty as the President of the Republic.
According to the Democrat chairman, during the last two weeks leading to the April 25 elections Meta was Premier Edi Rama’s main ally, causing the defeat of the opposition.
President Meta’s spokesman Tedi Blushi responded by calling Basha as Chairman Puppet, adding Rama is his master. Blushi wrote Basha is the major reason why Rama and the organized crime master stay in power after winning the third term in April 25.
The President’s spokesman also listed Basha’s four top responsibilities in helping Rama stay to power, which are: the boycott of the territorial administrative reform; the boycott of the justice reform; the relinquishment of the opposition’s MP mandates; the boycott of the local elections leaving the opposition with zero representation in the local government level.
