The abduction and cruel murder of the two-year-old Mateo Vasiu two days ago in Fier shocked the public opinion in Albania, with calls for capital punishment for the author. The boy’s family has started a petition for the return of the death penalty in Albania, but as the shock and pain from the monstrous crime apparently has not reached yet to the hearts of Premier Edi Rama’s cabinet members.

The State Minister for the Protection of Children Bora Muzhaqi, asked by a Syri TV reporter about the measures that will be taken to defend children from violence and abuse, refused to respond, saying: “I am too late, I have to go”.

Even though the media reporters insisted for an answer, Muzhaqi refused to respond and left like nothing had happened.
