Former Minister of Justice Aldo Bumçi said the Democratic Party was slowly dying under the lead of Chairman Lulzim Basha and the former chairman Sali Berisha’s initiative was necessary as a solution.

“The Democratic Party would be fading away like a senior person that is dying in silence unless Sali Berisha wouldn’t have started his movement”, Bumçi told the Albanian daily Koha Jonë. “This is not a personal issue between Basha and Berisha. Berisha is a transitory figure and had we not risen, the party would be dead with Basha. Berisha is indispensable in this transitory period. Two years later, for the general elections, there will be many candidatures for Prime Minister”.
