The Central Electoral Commission (KQZ) did not decide today to remove the mandate of the Socialist deputy Armando Prenga.
Despite he has been sentenced to a fine after a court ruling in December 1, 2005, KQZ voted today it needs extra information from the Prosecution on Prenga’s sentence.
SYRI.net has secured and extract from the decision the General Prosecution Office sent to KQZ a few days ago for the interruption of Armando Prenga’s mandate.
According to the document, the Socialist deputy has been sentenced to a fine in 2005 by the Court of Kurbin after being found guilty for “documents forgery”.
Regardless, KQZ did not consider the ruling of an Albanian court, asking extra information for Prenga’s legal suits in Italy.
The opposition members in KQZ voted for the mandate removal, but the majority imposed its will through the power of voting cards, deciding for the request of extra information about Prenga’s criminal activity.
